Thanks for stopping by! I wish we could meet in person. I’d love to know what brings you here and how I can be a good friend and prayer warrior in your life! Please feel free to comment on any posts you read or send me a note through Contact Me. I’d love to get to know you!
This is a place for encouragement and hope. A place where we can learn to rest in God’s grace to love Jesus more, draw nearer to Him, go deeper, believe bigger and live freer! Encountering God in the pages of His word is one of the greatest ways to know Him and hear His voice for every practical and impossible need we have today. That’s what I write about, because He is real and His word is relevant for marriage, parenting, friendships, hope, faith, trust, grieving, healing, believing and growing. I have personally witnessed the Lord deliver me from bulimia, alcoholism and a whole slew of bad decisions, save my marriage, blend my family and miraculously alter our circumstances. Any time you visit, I want you to leave knowing Him more, not me. I want you to follow Jesus, not me.
Because I’m chronically organized, I categorize what I write into three different blogs. Becoming Wholly His is my main blog. The Meaty Minute is where I post quick, one-minute servings of God’s word to change your day! The Body Blog is where I share what the Lord has done and is doing to deliver me from a life-long struggle with food and body image.
If it’s easier for you to subscribe than visit me here, you’ll receive a weekly newsletter with a quick recap of what’s new on any of my three blogs as well as announcements, free book downloads and other exciting news! Just enter your email in the top right sidebar and you’ll be all set!
A little about me…
I am a stay- and work-at-home mom of four teenage and young adult kids, one of whom is married, so I’m a mother-in-law too! My husband of nearly 20 years and I live in Texas, where we run our family-owned and operated custom home building business! We have homeschooled more than 12 years; our last one is now in high school. Three down, one to go! We are loud, crazy, completely in love with Jesus and each other, and we enjoy living in happy, orderly chaos.
My life consists of early morning hours tucked away in the comfy chair in my office, alone with the Lord and without distraction. Well, that’s if you don’t count JJ, my Maltese baby who constantly serves as a welcome interruption of cuteness. If I’m going to write at all, that’s when it’s going to happen. And I LOVE to write. Mostly, I write to the Lord, and sometimes He gives me something to share here or in a Bible study.
With the waking of the first person, my day and its chaos begin! I try to exercise, which doesn’t always happen. I try to eat and cook healthy meals, which doesn’t always happen! I do love to cook, but I don’t share recipes here. I’m a huge believer in being informed and involved in politics, but unless it’s to write about what God has to say about it, I don’t write about politics here. I love fashion and shopping and hair and everything girly, fitness and health and reading. For all that, let’s hook up on social media!
